when we first met lena & elliot we were planning on shooting their wedding and we were so excited! but shortly after our meeting, lena was offered an amazing job and with that came a wedding date switch- we were so bummed to find ourselves unavailable!
…but ANYWAY, lena & elliot rock! and they’re hilarious! and really, it bares repeating- HILARIOUS. seriously, we could hardly keep up with them. elliot had ideas for different shots faster than we could even shoot. LITERALLY. their energy is quite contagious but also just really impressive. we explored midtown for this shoot and found quite a variety of locations in an area not much larger than one block- it was a great afternoon of laughs, pretty light, and sky scrapers!
here are a few of our faves:
all of the fountains in georgia are dry because of the drought plaguing the area so we took full advantage! they jumped right in this fountain in an office park for a few shots- it didn’t last long before the security guard came out and informed us they were receiving complaints…COME ON PEOPLE. they are adorable! and HAPPY! or maybe that was the issue…
FINE. we’ll sit on the edge of the fountain! …aaand we were still asked to leave. it was ok, we moved on to bigger & better locations! :)
found a patch of grass big enough to shoot a few sweet little cuddly pictures! as much as they look serious and restful here they were actually totally cracking each other up- tickling, poking, pushing and laughing! :)
gotta love a little architecture! the light was coming through perfectly and when elliot jumped up there we knew they were going to make it awesome- which they promptly did:
then it was on to the parking deck…? matt’s been pushing parking deck shots for quite a while now and we finally found a deck we liked with pretty light and a couple that we realized was going to be completely fine and comfortable no matter if they were in a beautiful wheat field or a parking lot. the conditions were perfect! ;) love the way these next five came out- obviously we’ll be taking full advantage of parking decks in the future!
we were done with the shoot and walking back to our cars when we passed this location and had to stop and take advantage of it! the light was gleaming off the building and they were kind enough to humor us for a few more shots!

You two find the coolest locations to take your couples. . .seriously! I am sorry to read that your schedules didn’t align and you aren’t able to do their wedding. I can only imagine what the shots would of been like. Keep churning out your photography goodness guys! I love it!
My favorite is the shot of them walking away. They look so small and the light is so big and gorgeous! Love this image. :)

My faves are the grass shot and the elevator shot. Elevator probably edges the grass shot for #1. Mostly b/c the light is so dramatic, and making it b&w adds to this. Well done!
*lena, glad you guys are happy with them! a totally fun shoot… all you guys ROCK for talking about your faves, so mine: i really liked the upsidedown grass shot but my pick will have to be the vertical of them walking away- the light and the 3 hz/diagonal lines are KILLER.
These are great. Matt isn’t the only one that dreams of parking garages. :) I actually just did some kick butt ones in a local parking garage in my small town. Yours look great!

I haven’t passed along my formal congratulations to you two yet, so congratulations! Your shots are beautiful– each one of them. I would have a tough time making a choice of my favorite. Have as much fun with the rest of the wedding plans as you apparently had with this photo shoot! :)
Congratulations again—-The photos are realistic and impressive—We viewed the SS in our Grand Princess stateroom as we are plodding back to Fort Lauderdale…at least 10 pounds heavier than when we left home…..Looking forward to the big day in August……..Love, Grammie and Poppie
