you learn a lot about someone when things don’t go the way they planned. you learn how adaptable they are, how optimistic they are- you learn about their priorities and their sense of adventure. this is really how we came to love allie & yuval. yes, we had coffee, chatted about their wedding, and left feeling great about working with them. but it was after one rain out, one game time location change and one threateningly rainy afternoon shoot that we saw their true colors. and they’re the best colors. :) anyone who can remain so light on their feet with happiness as these two, in the midst of their plans falling apart, is someone we are so excited to work with! allie & yuval, we are excited to be there for your wedding day, it’s going to be wonderful!

when we first met lena & elliot we were planning on shooting their wedding and we were so excited! but shortly after our meeting, lena was offered an amazing job and with that came a wedding date switch- we were so bummed to find ourselves unavailable!
…but ANYWAY, lena & elliot rock! and they’re hilarious! and really, it bares repeating- HILARIOUS. seriously, we could hardly keep up with them. elliot had ideas for different shots faster than we could even shoot. LITERALLY. their energy is quite contagious but also just really impressive. we explored midtown for this shoot and found quite a variety of locations in an area not much larger than one block- it was a great afternoon of laughs, pretty light, and sky scrapers!
here are a few of our faves:
all of the fountains in georgia are dry because of the drought plaguing the area so we took full advantage! they jumped right in this fountain in an office park for a few shots- it didn’t last long before the security guard came out and informed us they were receiving complaints…COME ON PEOPLE. they are adorable! and HAPPY! or maybe that was the issue…
FINE. we’ll sit on the edge of the fountain! …aaand we were still asked to leave. it was ok, we moved on to bigger & better locations! :)
found a patch of grass big enough to shoot a few sweet little cuddly pictures! as much as they look serious and restful here they were actually totally cracking each other up- tickling, poking, pushing and laughing! :)
gotta love a little architecture! the light was coming through perfectly and when elliot jumped up there we knew they were going to make it awesome- which they promptly did:
then it was on to the parking deck…? matt’s been pushing parking deck shots for quite a while now and we finally found a deck we liked with pretty light and a couple that we realized was going to be completely fine and comfortable no matter if they were in a beautiful wheat field or a parking lot. the conditions were perfect! ;) love the way these next five came out- obviously we’ll be taking full advantage of parking decks in the future!
we were done with the shoot and walking back to our cars when we passed this location and had to stop and take advantage of it! the light was gleaming off the building and they were kind enough to humor us for a few more shots!
lena & elliot, thank you guys so much for a great afternoon! we had a blast getting to know you guys as a couple- you’re clearly going to never run out of fun to have! look forward to seeing you guys again soon!
