Maggie & Jonathon are Married!

By | Weddings | No Comments

early autumn is a popular time in atlanta- the oppressive heat of summer has abated but the sun is still warm and brilliant- glittering over buildings, making trees seem even greener and more lush as hints of yellow and orange creep onto the leaves. everyone is outside and active and smiling- which makes it the most popular time to host a huge festival- one that takes over a large portion of the city and draws crowds from around the country- music midtown. it was on this beautiful weekend that maggie & jonathon were married- at the peachtree club in the middle of, you guessed it, midtown. this may not seem like an ideal situation to any outsider reading this but i am so happy that maggie & jonathon were able to tune out the crowds, the traffic and the distant bump of bass and really focus on one another and beginning their new life together. not everyone would have been able to stay as centered and present as the two of them. which i think bodes well for their future- if being together means the chaos of the world fades into the background- that can only mean good things for maggie & jonathon. we couldn’t be happier for them- here are a few of our favorite images from their wedding day.

i LOVE the plum maggie chose for her bridesmaids- so rich and beautiful for the start of fall in atlanta. :)

maggie & jonathon, we wish you two the very best! thank you so much for having us there to capture your wedding day!

ashley & josh are married!

just 11 days ago, while frolicking (carefully taking small steps) in the snow with my tiny babe, i couldn’t help worrying about ashley. her wedding was just a couple of days away and i assumed the inclement weather, the blocked interstates and the cancelled flights were heightening her pre-wedding anxiety. i LOVE winter weddings- the nest of bare branches against the occasional rich evergreen, the glittery sunlight refracting off an isolated water droplet as it hesitates to fall or freeze- i could go on. and yet, we’ve never heard of a wedding being cancelled due to heat- but ice? it happens. as i reflected on the stress i would feel in ashley’s place i also knew this: if anyone can handle a bit of ice before her wedding day, it’s ashley. she’s just one of those people- talented yet practical, organized yet flexible, aware yet optimistic. i can’t say i know many people like her. josh, the other half of this sweet couple, is her perfect match. his awareness, kindness and attentiveness to ashley and others is beautiful to see. together they really do become an unstoppable team. i understand that that is a little cheesy (you don’t immediately lose perspective on real life when working in the wedding industry- contrary to popular belief;) but i challenge you to spend a day with these two and not feel inspired, empowered and blessed to know them. the morning of their wedding, as the last of the ice melted in the deepest shadows, the air turned surprisingly warm and we joined ashley and josh for an awesome celebration of their love and the start of their new life together. what a beautiful, beautiful day. cheers to these two. :)

a few years ago, matt & i planted three evergreens in a row in our back yard- i cannot even wait until we have a stunning wall of greenery year round like this. doesn’t it look so luxurious and furry and soft?? maybe i just love green trees in the winter. or maybe ashley & josh just make everything look fantastic. it’s actually probably the latter…oh, these two:

ashley & josh, congratulations! we are so happy for you guys and we’re thrilled we were able to spend the day with you- capturing all of the sweet moments. you guys are the best. :)

randi & michael are married!

i’ve been so excited to tell you all about randi & michael for a while now- we met them on a chilly winter day for some hearty, delicious pasta at one of our favorite little places in atlanta. a good start to anything, i think! we quickly learned that randi & michael love food just as much as we do- randi is actually a chef! and next we found out that they are actually into photography as well! aaaand so we love them. that is just how these two are. they are so interesting and interested and they’ve traveled all around the world experiencing so many places and adventures. but they are just so relaxed and down to earth about it all. we walked away from dinner having learned so much about so many different things but really feeling like we just had two new friends! their ever-present smiles are truly an overflow of how much they love life, one another and everyone around them- it’s such a joy to know people like randi & michael.

randi actually got ready at michael’s parent’s home- in his childhood room! i love everything about that.

meanwhile, their guests began to assemble at the ceremony site, enjoying a cold drink as they mingled in the warm afternoon sun:

a close friend of randi & michael performed their ceremony which was so sweet and personal…and pretty quick too! before we knew it they were whisked away for a few quiet moments together:

i really do love this next image. after the ceremony emotions tend to surge- feelings of pure joy mix with relief and excitement and just the magnitude of it all- beautiful:

after a quick look around their dinner setup, randi & michael were introduced and began their first dance as a new family!

randi & michael, we feel so blessed to have been part of your wedding day. you two are just beautiful together and we are glad to know you. we wish you guys the very best and we cannot even wait to see your images from your romantic parisian/italian honeymoon!
