news!

so i know our posting lately has been sporadic at best but really- who’s life isn’t a little (or a LOT) crazy over the holidays!? we’re officially still ‘out of the office’ but i wanted to just stop by and share some good news with you.

in early 2008 when we launched our business we made a few goals. we were quite ambitious so though the list was short, it was daunting. we’ve shared our goals with you as we’ve achieved them but there was still one secret goal that was left unmet. until yesterday (!!!) when the lovely team of incredibly smart and talented women behind southern weddings magazine sent us a glorious email informing us that an image of ours had been published in the premiere issue of their beautiful magazine! PUBLISHED! like, all over the whole country! and just in time to check off our last 2008 goal! what!? we’re so excited!

we really encourage you all to go GRAB the issue off the closest shelf! the inspiration you will find, the images you’ll digest and the advice you’ll read will completely change the way you view your wedding and the wedding industry as a whole. totally worth braving the chilly winds (what is UP today atlanta!?) to dash out and purchase. in fact, i will make this even easier for you, THIS is the cover you’re looking for:

well that and THIS page, with our red velvet cake image in the corner! :)

in other news matt and i will be attending our first wedding of 2008 (well, vow renewal) as guests tonight! woohoo! we’re really excited to share in ami’s special event, no doubt it will be perfect in every way. it’s going to be exciting (and probably strange at first :) ) experiencing everything as a guest but i’m sure we’ll quickly get the hang of it- what a treat! happy new year everyone!

inspiration monday

when matt and i got engaged i was two semesters from finishing school- two rather intense semesters. therefore wedding planning just couldn’t take over my life. it did creep in close- i remember sitting in class mindlessly googling veils while taking notes on french and dutch art of the seventeenth century. but bottom line, i wasn’t steeped in the industry like i am now. these days i am endlessly amazed at the creativity and personality i’ve seen in weddings. ladies bucking traditions that mean little to them and running with new ideas that really represent who they are is just inspiring to see. all of this means a lot of time and energy from the lovely lady in white but it’s so worth it! there are so many amazing resourses out there for brides that i’ve learned about since my own wedding and i want to share a couple of my faves with you:

first up, our good friends ami and rebekah at elizabeth anne designs. i actually was able to meet up with ami this past weekend- what a knowledgable gal! they are always full of bold ideas and inspiration, not to mention eye candy! i used one of their inspiration boards (intended for a wedding) to help decorate my apartment!

next let’s chat about the lovely janie over at the bride’s cafe. i want to give her a quick thanks! for featuring kaney & lewis’s incredible wedding just last week, it’s awesome that she liked those pictures as much as we did! her site is full of beautiful images from real weddings; she is always on the lookout for the latest and greatest to inspire you!

i have so many more favorites but for now i leave you with these, enjoy!

just saying hi!

first of all, please check out the serious eye candy that is vanessa and hart’s new gallery!

so vacation rocks but man did we pick a big week to be out of touch! so much is happening, i can barely get internet but the little beeps on the iphone suggest we have mounds of goodness to catch up on when we return! i do want to take a sec and share something i’m very excited about. our good friends over at elizabeth anne designs have launched a new resource for brides called the ead library- it’s amazing! the site is so comprehensive and the quality and amount of vendors on there is incredible. i highly recommend checking it out:

i want to leave you with a small taste of our vacation. the other day we walked down to what’s known as ‘the sugar bowl’ which is really just a massive sand dune. dad and his friends used to tear down it and rarely could they make it to the bottom without wiping out. i guess matt thought he could but he was wrong: ;)

…and we’re off!
