sally & andrew are married!

sally and andrew walked down the aisle exactly six years after their first date! it was a much anticipated day full of excitement, love and a few nerves. sally and i had been in pretty much constant contact since their engagement shoot and it was really awesome to watch the number of exclamation points rise steadily with each email she sent. when matt and i arrived in augusta on saturday i really do think that we were almost as excited for them as they were! their love is so evident; they planned every aspect of wedding together and saturday morning they took a break from finalizing details to share a big pancake breakfast at ihop. see, aren’t they just so lovable?! here are a few of our favorite shots from their day:

thank you guys so much for allowing us to be a part of such a wonderful day! we look forward to keeping in touch, best wishes!!

colors of spring … ?

first!  i’m super-excited to announce that sesha and aaron’s wedding gallery is on the website!  check them out!

lately, i’ve been so inspired by bright imagery.  my eyes tend to linger in cool blue shadows and warm yellow highlights - this is the artsy side of me, this makes me truly love how we photograph.

[i've even found myself itching to grab brighter clothes for spring - i might be unrecognizable without my standard black, cream, and grey!  i get this sneaking suspicion (or it bowls me over when i walk into the new safari of color that is lennox mall) that lots of color will be hot this spring, so i've timidly picked up a few accent pieces i hope to pluck up the courage to wear!]

but i digress, i meant to talk about photography color, and how i have fallen hard for candy-bright images.  just clicking on our galleries page shows you our dedication to bright, active, lively images and i think our newest gallery is no exception.  however, my favorite images from aaron and sesha’s wedding are all black and white! what?! (have i reverted back to blacks, creams, and greys? oh no!)  i think we’re all a sucker for a black and white sometimes, but you can rest assured that our dedication to color is still as alive and vibrant (oh yes, i said it) as ever.  that being said, here are a few of my loves from last weekend:

have a great weekend guys!  thanks tons for reading (which = making us feel loved :) ) and check back early next week for new engagement pics!

the levett wedding!

all weddings are different, they each have a unique feel that stems directly from the personality of the couple. this past weekend, on the beach in front of his family’s old house, aaron married sesha in a ceremony overflowing with smiles and a couple of tears too. the sky was blue, the waves were rustling, and the sand reflected the footprints of friends and family from all across the country who came to celebrate with this loving couple.

following the ceremony was a celebration at the surf golf & beach club. aaron and sesha are a self-described unconventional couple and for their reception wanted nothing more than a big party for their friends and family. they were laughingly talked into cutting the cake together but in general abandoned traditions and focused on catching up with friends and family. it was an enthusiastic celebration filled with dancing, laughing, and love; here is their story in a few of our favorite pics:

paper products

first of all, i’m sorry i’ve been so absent on my own blog lately! our new camera gadgets arrived this week and we’ve been working hard to incorporate their effects into our style. we’ve also been speed-editing sally’s bridal portraits so she can go ahead and order some prints for her big day! i’m sure you noticed that you didn’t see any lovely images on our blog from that session, we didn’t want to ruin it, sorry andrew ;) !! on top of everything has been the excitement of gearing up for our first wedding of the season this weekend in myrtle beach! we can’t wait to share some images with you guys soon!

speaking of images, this week we received one of the most personalized and creative wedding invitations i’ve seen. brides, take note: invitations give your guests the first glimpse into your wedding day. think ahead about what tone you want to set for your big day and attack invitations from that angle! our friends claire and philippe created such a fun and personal vibe for their wedding day by creating invitations as unique as they are! these two are pure french through and through, though recently moved to the u.s. for philippe to teach and research at georgia tech. their wedding will be with their families in france, but they kindly took into account all of the out.of.towners, you’ll see! the portfolio style envelope created a natural canvas for their adorable personalized stamp (a pic we took!) which created a great teaser for their matching invitations inside. Their first insert, a save the date-like card with photo-booth style pictures (taken by us, yup), creates a relaxed and fun feel for their day. the second insert is three full pages front and back of their favorite places around their wedding venue. simple and clever titles top the pages like, ‘the sleep’ (bed and breakfasts, and hotels) and ‘the mmmmm’ (which includes local wine and cheese cafes, mmmmm is right!). overall, i’m in love with this invitation and because we had to turn down photographing their big day (we’re booked, sadly) i feel like i’m missing the party of the century, all thanks to these unique, personal invitations:
